Overgrown

Everything is overgrown here and maybe all's lost but it's hard to know just yet. It's been years. Decades. More. You can brush away some of what’s covered everything up and maybe get a glimpse of what used to be but you won't ever see it for what it was.  It was really something. Makes me think a lot about older folks. They always say they can't remember things but I think it's just that they won't. Makes them hurt too much to know it all just came and went so fast. They tend to spend their days wondering when it’s all gonna go for good anyway.  I like to look at it like this see… when everything gets all overgrown it’s just a big hand takin’ everything back to where it came from.  All those long fingers thick and thin wrappin’ everything up real tight gettin' ready to pull it back down into into black nothin'.  Overgrown is just a transition back to whatever things were before.  Us with all our busy business are really just dancing around a bit and waitin’ for those fingers to come up feelin’ around for us I think.  Guess we’ll see.
